Securing the Swarm: Exploring State-of-the-Art Collective Attestation and Challenges
In the IoT domain, many remote attestation protocols are leading towards collectively attesting large-scale IoT systems. Such protocols, known as swarm attestation protocols, aim at efficiently and effectively verifying the trustworthiness of all the devices in the swarm. The state-of-the-art swarm attestation protocols propose various solutions and rely on different assumptions regarding network topology, attack scenarios, and security requirements. This talk gives a brief introduction to the state-of-the-art swarm schemes in the IoT domain, discussing their system model, assumptions, and working mechanisms. Additionally, this talk highlights some future challenges and promising directions in swarm attestation research.
